The FS2000 is a complete playout and graphical solution, PC-based, analogue or digital (HD/SD-SDI),  19-inch wide rack mounted industrial house.

Depending on the standard and connection type, FS2000 can be:

  1. For CVBS/YUV/RGB analog signals in SD resolution

FD722 board

Softlab FD722

The FD722 is designed to work with digital SDI and ASI signals.

For connections on the board there are 5 HD-BNC connectors:

  • connector for synchronization signal (analog signal);
  • two connectors for input signals;
  • two connectors for connecting the output signals.

The board allows to work with signals 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and ASI. Each input and output can be independently tuned to its signal type.

When working with 3G-SDI signals, only one input and one output function.

* In 3G SDI mode, only one channel is available: only one input of the board will work, and the same (duplicated) signal will be output to both outputs.

Attention! If you need to connect analog signals you need to use analog-to-SDI converters. If you only need to work with analog signals, we recommend that you purchase a solution based on the FD322 board .

Working in ASI mode

With the transition to digital TV from I / O boards, support not only for uncompressed digital streams (SDI inputs / outputs) but also for compressed digital streams transmitted as MPTS (Multi Program Transport Stream) or SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream) via ASI inputs / outputs.

The FD722 board can work with both SDI and ASI. You can programmatically configure the board’s operating mode by selecting any combination of SDI and ASI inputs and outputs. For example, you can receive multiplex through the ASI-input and video signal from the studio via SDI-input, change the signal of one of the multiplex programs by a signal from the studio, give the changed multiplex via the ASI-output, and give the video signal of the program to the SDI-output.

In this case, the FD722 card allows you to arbitrarily configure the outputs for different applications. In particular, it is possible to obtain: two identical SDI signals; two independent SDI outputs for building multi-channel systems; two SDI outputs of Fill + Key signals for further mixing with external devices; SDI + ASI outputs for simultaneous output and „flat” picture and transport stream; two ASI outputs for simultaneous issuance of two transport streams.

For any processing of video programs in digital streams, MPTS has to decode and re-encode video and audio in one way or another. The FD722 board does not have a built-in encoder, which implies the use of software coders and decoders in the products of the Forward TS series.

FD842 board


The FD842 board supports input/output/processing of HD/SD-SDI digital video signals. The FD842 board has 4 inputs and 2 outputs. Also the FD842 board allows working in the Fill and Key mode used for external mixing. The board is a hardware component of all multichannel products: Forward Goalkeeper, Forward Referee, Focus Virtual Studio, Forward TS, Forward Tx.

FD422 board

Softlab FD422

The FD422 board includes all functions of the FD300 board except a support of input and output analog signals. The FD422 board is designed for working with SDI and ASI signals unlike the FD300 board that works with SDI via daughter board. The FD422 board has 2 input ports and 2 output ports.

The FD422 board is plugged to the PCI-Express x1 slot instead of an ordinary PCI slot. This is a principal advantage unlike the FD300 board.

ASI mode

Expanding of digital television requires a support of MPTS (Multi Program Transport Stream) and SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream). Standard I/O boards for digital television have to support both uncompressed digital streams (SDI input/output) and compressed digital streams (MPTS and SPTS via ASI).

The FD422 board works with both SDI and ASI signals. The ASI (SDI) mode is selected by the software settings. It is possible to use both ASI and SDI inputs and outputs:

  • to receive multiplex via ASI input,
  • to receive video signal from local studio via SDI input,
  • to substitute one of multiplex program by studio signal according to the schedule,
  • to display target program via SDI output,
  • to send changed multiplex via ASI output.

The FD422 board provides with a possibility to configure outputs for different applications arbitrarily. It is possible particularly to configure:

  • 2 same SDI outputs;

  • 1 SDI output and 1 ASI output for simultaneous output both uncompressed and compressed digital streams;
  • 2 ASI outputs for simultaneous transmitting of 2 independent transport streams.
